A Full Moon Grief Retreat for Women
July 18th-21st, 2024

Join Karla along with Lydia Nitya Griffith for a nourishing, supportive 3-night camping retreat under the Full Blessing Moon at Open Sky, a re-wilded tobacco farm in beautiful Buckingham County, Virginia, to care for your broken heart. You are invited to take this sacred time for yourself to explore your emotions, nurture your body, mind, and spirit, while you allow Mother Earth and the healing energies of the Full Blessing Moon to soothe your soul.

All our thoughtfully curated activities are designed specifically to help you reclaim and rebuild your energy, which becomes so depleted in the experiences of grief. Your days will be balanced with nourishing activities for your body, mind, heart and and spirit, allowing  space for much needed reflection, integration, and personal time. We will create art, engage in ceremony, eat nourishing meals and connect with nature. You can wander the trails, enjoy the flowers in bloom, watch the birds, read, nap and listen to the needs of your own body and spirit.

We will begin our experience with dinner and a sacred fire on Thursday evening. Each day begins with a song, bringing you gently awake for morning meditation, pranayama (breathwork), and gentle yoga. Our reflective, creative, nurturing, healing and inspiring activities are woven into each day with afternoon tea and snack on the front porch or spot of your choice. The beautiful 8-acre property has many lovely spaces where you might sit and enjoy a cup of tea, hang in the hammock with a good book. Each evening will include either Yin Yoga or a sacred fire with singing and sharing. On Saturday we will have full moon bathing with a guided Yoga Nidra. Silence is observed at our day’s end to ensure your retreat is as restful and rejuvenating as possible. We conclude on Sunday morning after breakfast with a closing ritual.

Directions to Open Sky and all details will be sent to you prior to the retreat following your completed registration and payment.

This retreat has very limited space. We will be able to accommodate no more than 12 attendees. This experience is exclusively for women identifying participants only. All forms of grief and heart-break are welcome in this space.
