There may be a specific issue that you need help with and you want someone with expertise in that area to help you out. I can evaluate the situation and help you get back on the path. Consultation involves shared examination and exploration of the challenges you are facing, collaboration in problem solving and decision making. The process is a cooperative one where I share with you my expertise and knowledge to assist you understand obstacles and facilitate solutions. If you have had a death in your family and need guidance about how to share information with your child on the spectrum about the death, the rituals, what to expect, and how to best support them, you can benefit from consultation. We can also explore whether your child/teen or you would benefit from counseling and explore those options. If you are out of town, I can assist you in finding a therapist or counselor to work with you.
If you are a teacher, school, or other support organization that supports those on the spectrum and you need assistance in supporting your clients through coping with death or other losses (transitions, changing employment), you can benefit from consultation.
--Parenting support Parenting is stressful. With 16 years of working with children, teens and adolescents and over a decade working as a behavior therapist, I am uniquely qualified to help you identify your challenges as well as your parenting goals and help you move toward a less stressful family life.
--Transitions in life Divorced, going to college, growing older, changing careers, becoming a parent, getting married, recieving difficult medical diagnoses...all these life changes can be stressful, but can also bring incredible growth. I can help you manage the stress you may not expect and help identify ways to feel more peaceful within life's changes.

Consultation is not counseling or therapy. If, in our consulting work together, we determine that counseling or therapy may be appropriate for you or your child, I will help you explore options for therapy with me or provide appropriate referrals as needed. If you are out of town, I can assist you in finding a therapist or counselor to work with you and your unique needs.
