Join Karla for this two-day experiential and empirical workshop for midwives, labor and delivery or mother-baby unit nurses, obstetricians, pediatricians, birth or postpartum doulas, birth attendants, counselors, social workers, pre & post-natal yoga instructors; any provider involved with the pregnancy year. Receive an overview and greater understanding of traumatic grief; what it is and how birthing mothers, persons and their partners are impacted in labor, birth, through the postpartum period, and beyond.
While we always hope for the best outcomes, the fact is that pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infant death happens. As professionals who work with pregnant people and their families, we must be prepared to support our clients and patients through all pregnancy outcomes. If you have ever found yourself struggling to support someone through grief or trauma, know that you are not alone. What you learn in this workshop can help in those moments. It will prepare you to be supportive of families in crisis, in acute and chronic traumatic grief states, and how to best support clients in expression and process of grief.
